Are you thinking OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT? Or are you thinking Microsoft who did the impossible by making Bing somewhat cool again?

Well, lo and behold the AI king of all - NVIDIA!

You see, Nvidia's right in the heart of the tech industry's love affair with AI because they make the magic sauce required to power these AI models: Graphical Processing Units (GPUs).

In a show that left spectators drooling, Nvidia flexed its Q1 earnings muscles after the bell on Wednesday. Needless to say, they reported some impressive figures!

• Total Revenue: $7.2 Billion (+19%)

• Net Profit: $2 Billion (+5%)

• Data Center Revenue: $4.3 Billion (+18%)

• Gaming Revenue: $2.2 Billion (+22%)

The wolfs were so happy with these digits that they skyrocketed (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares by over 25% in after-hours trading.

• By the time Wednesday's closing bell rang, Nvidia's market cap stood at a hefty $754.3 billion. Now, add that 25% increase to it, and you're looking at the tantalizingly close $1 Trillion mark.

• Should Nvidia's stock maintain its thrust through Thursday's trading, it could contend for the largest one-day market-cap gain in history giving Amazon’s $191.2 billion increase on Feb. 4, 2022 a scare.

Nvidia REALLY seems to have struck gold with its A.I. chips.

Apple’s AI Tax 🫰🍎

Last week, OpenAI's ChatGPT app made a flashy debut on the iOS App Store. And it didn't just make waves, it made a freakin' tsunami!

From a nobody to “App Store's Must-Have”, ChatGPT is unsurprisingly sitting pretty as the number one free app.

While users are partying with ChatGPT Plus, their $20/month subscription is filling up another party's coffers - and it ain't just OpenAI!

Apple, ever the shrewd gatekeeper, is gleefully pocketing a neat 30% cut, thanks to their in-app purchasing system.

Business Insider considered a hypothetical scenario, which honestly may not be hypothetical a few months from now.

• If ChatGPT Plus adds 5 million new iOS subscribers, that's a revenue of around $1.2 billion per year for OpenAI.

• Apple, without lifting a finger in the scene, would pocket a whooping $360 million annually. Not a bad day's work, huh?

Apple’s dominant control over the App Store is allowing it to bank on the AI gold-rush not just through ChatGPT but numerous other AI apps that have flooded the market since.

Meanwhile, our man Tim Cook is planning to "weave" AI into Apple products, without revealing much else. Classic Apple, right?

Simultaneously, Apple has advised employees to give ChatGPT a wide berth due to privacy concerns. But hey, why let that stop them from selling the same service to users and making bank, right?
