Amazon Shines in Earnings 💫

Earnings season is in full swing, and it was Amazon's turn to step into the spotlight. Following the robust performance of tech giants Google and Microsoft, Amazon didn't disappoint, delivering a spectacular show that left investors and analysts more than impressed.

With a remarkable leap in profits and revenues, Amazon stood out, especially with its powerhouse Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a thriving advertising business that seemed to defy the odds.

Here’s all the digits you need to know for AMZN:

  1. Total Revenue: $143.1 Billion (+13%)

  2. AWS Revenue: $23.1 Billion (+12%)

  3. Advertising Revenue: $12.1 Billion (+25%)

  4. Net Income: $9.9 Billion (+341%)

While Google's ad business showed a 9% growth and Facebook reported a 23% increase, Amazon's ad revenue growth towered over them, showcasing the e-commerce giant’s growing dominance in the digital advertising space.

However, in the cloud business, Amazon seems to be facing stiff competition, with Microsoft’s Azure platform reporting a 29% growth and Google Cloud expanding by 22%. Despite this, AWS’s substantial contribution to Amazon’s total revenue and profit cannot be ignored.

Looking ahead, Amazon provided guidance for the fourth quarter, projecting sales to be between $160 billion and $167 billion, aiming for a growth of around 9.6% from the previous year.

Investors and market enthusiasts, it’s time to take note: Amazon is not just surviving; it’s thriving, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. Which stock will be your pick in this season of earnings? Amazon has certainly made a compelling case for itself.
