Can Google Beat GPT-4? 🥊
Big G’s AI research lab, DeepMind is a “Man on a Mission”.
The Mission: Kick GPT-4’s a$$.
Demis Hassabis, Deepmind CEO is all set to raise the AI bar higher than a giraffe’s toupee and give a serious fight to the reigning AI champion currently, GPT-4.

They are working on their Large Language Model - Gemini. Google's developer conference gave us a sneak peek at this AI supermodel, but sadly it's still in the AI-gym, beefing up its capabilities.
In all honesty, DeepMind is one of the few contenders out there that can actually knock out the supremacy of GPT-4.
The lab has been the home-ground for some of the most revolutionary AI advancements in recent times:
Alpha-Go :- Their AI that beat the Go World Champion.
Alpha-Fold :- Their AI that accurately predicts 3D structures of protein. It solves the 50 year old “Protein Folding Problem”.

All of the above AI revolutions involved huge innovations in a field of machine learning called Reinforcement Learning (RL).
RL is an important piece of training these huge language models with their refinement coming from a component known as Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF).
Deepmind CEO mentioned that they’re using their RL expertise to train Gemini which they hope can be the baddest beast in the town.

Robinhood’s $95 Million Credit Card 💳
Robinhood has decided to go shopping and has picked up a credit card startup named X1 for $95 million.
Now, you're probably wondering, "Why is a trading platform like Robinhood suddenly interested in a credit card startup?"
You're not alone, my friends. But we may have some answers to that why.

What is X1?
Apart from being an insanely cool name for any company, the startup is essentially a credit card company. It offers an income-based credit card with rewards.
The company first made headlines for its unique model, which allows it to underwrite customers based on their income rather than their credit scores.
There are a couple of possible reasons for why Robinhood shelled out this cash for the startup.
1/ Income Diversification
It’s no secret that Robinhood has been having a bit of a rough patch lately, after weening off from the crazy highs of pandemic trading.
Their crypto trading has seen a slowdown and they’re also losing out users. X1 gives them access to some fresh dough that comes with the credit card interchange fee biz.
2/ Integration with their trading platform?
Robinhood could have acquired any of the credit startups if it was just for entering the credit card market. What makes X1 the belle of the ball?
Well, some birdies say that X1 had planning to launch a new platform that allow cardholders to purchase stocks using their earned reward points.

Because why would we anyone to spend those rewards for that Bahamas vacation when you can simply lose them on Robinhood!
So, it might be possible that Robinhood is looking to integrate X1’s platform to their already behemoth trading platform and earn more of that green paper!
