OpenAI App Store 📱
There’s a meme on tech Twitter that most AI startups are just ChatGPT wrappers.
There’s nothing wrong with running a ChatGPT wrapper, per se, except that you are always one OpenAI update away from being obsolete.
Picture this: You're a developer and you've just spent your last three sleepless nights on your latest AI masterpiece, aka, “The ChatGPT Wrapper for X”, errr sorry, “Best AI for X”.
However, the next day, Sam Altman gives a command that takes your app to the grave without it even being alive. This has already happened a couple of times.
When OpenAI released ChatGPT plugins to all.
When OpenAI released their ChatGPT app.
However, OpenAI just doesn't want to be friendly with its customers; they want to be friends with developers as well.
Enter OpenAI App Store, a spiffy new marketplace where you can trade your custom-built AI models to the highest bidder.
This will help OpenAI broaden their customer base and more importantly, it has the potential to print a loooot of dollars for them.
If released, the App Store would likely work on commissions and with enough scale, these market-places are stupidly profitable!
For reference: Apple made between $70-$85 billion just from App Store commissions in 2022. (source)
Of course, this is all speculation. OpenAI might just not do anything only!
Tesla to hit Indian Roads? 🚗
Picture this. You're zipping around India in a Tesla, the wind in your hair and the scent of street food wafting through the window. Feels good, right?
Well, our resident space and EV trailblazer, Elon Musk, seems to think so. He's been busy cozying up to the Indian Prime Minister to race Tesla’s on the streets of India.
Great conversation with @narendramodi

Their tête-à-tête seemed to have ended on a positive note as Musk painted an image of the Indian leader as a man open to new ventures.
Elon’s Past with India
This is not the first time that the EV overlord has tried the enter the land of spices and spirituality.
Elon had tried to make an entry into India in 2017 but was met with quote “one of the highest import duties tax anywhere in the world”.
And if that wasn’t a big enough issue, India wanted Tesla to assemble their cars entirely within the subcontinent without even testing if there was a market for it.
We want to do so, but import duties are the highest in the world by far of any large country!
Moreover, clean energy vehicles are treated the same as diesel or petrol, which does not seem entirely consistent with the climate goals of India.

Elon’s Future with India
Things however have changed since then. India has become the new darling of the developing world seeing the country’s post-pandemic growth.
India is also trying to cash in on USA’s ongoing trade-war with China by presenting itself as the next manufacturing capital of the world.
Elon is very much interested in the country, not only eyeing the racetracks for Tesla but for his other endeavors as well.
Tesla is looking for another Gigafactory location in Asia and with the US-China tensions heating up, India seems like a nice contender for the factory.
Musk also believes India is great for tapping into solar energy with the country promising great throughputs with correct infrastructural investments.
He also wants to connect the remote parts of the country by boosting India's internet connectivity with SpaceX’s Starling satellite.
Seems like Elon’s eyeing India not for any à-la carte arrangement but the whole buffet!
