Hi Everyone. This is Take Off. We're like a hidden Easter egg in your favorite video game - surprising, delightful, and adding an extra layer of fun to your tech news consumption.
Here's what we're serving up today:

OpenAI to tame “Superintelligent AI” 🤖
Picture this: It’s 2050 and you're driving your car. But wait, it’s 2050. Obviously, you’re not driving because the car is driving itself with your super-intelligent AI at the wheel.

But uh-oh, it decides it wants to go rogue and drive you straight to a disco instead of your dentist appointment. What do you do? Well, that's what the new team at OpenAI is here to figure out!
They're forming the AI equivalent of a superhero team. Their mission: to keep our soon-to-be smarty-pants AI from turning into rebels without a cause.
The new Superalignment team at OpenAI is setting out to solve the task of taming AI in just 4 years.
They’re dedicating a whopping 20% of their existing compute power to tackle this problem.
But how does someone go about actually building a SkyNet cop? Currently, the AI systems today are supervised by humans by using techniques such as Reinforcement Learning.
But when the AI gets smarter than us (gulp), we won't be able to keep an eye on them anymore.

That's where the Superalignment team steps in with their brainwave: let's build another smarty pants AI to play schoolmaster to the other AI.
We have one question though. What happens if the AI teacher decides to join the rebels?

Musks $90 Million Lawsuit 🧑⚖️
Looks like Elon is taking the phrase “Sue you in the morning” quite literally this week.
Twitter is embarking on a legal rollercoaster, engaging in a virtual tug of war with Mark Zuckerberg's Meta and having a financial standoff with a major law firm.

We can't help but wonder, has Musk been binge-watching Law & Order and Suits?
1/ Musk Vs. Zuckerberg: The Twitter-Threads Tango
Meta's "Threads" app, which boasts an uncanny resemblance to Twitter, has come under fire. Musk has accused Meta of playing dirty and using Twitter's secret sauce to cook up Threads.
Twitter’s claiming Meta unlawfully "misappropriated Twitter's trade secrets and other intellectual property" to create Threads.

2/ Musk Vs. Legal Eagles: The $90 Million Contention
Twitter's parent company, X Corp., is also taking on a corporate law firm, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. The issue is a $90 million payment related to Musk's acquisition of Twitter.
The lawsuit accuses the law firm of effectively raiding the "company cash register" during the handover to Musk.
It seems Musk's Twitter is donning its boxing gloves and stepping into the legal ring, ready to fight on two fronts.
