OpenAI Threatening EU 👻

OpenAI's head honcho Sam Altman has been making the rounds in Europe meeting with EU regulators. But despite the scenic backdrop, it's not all pleasantries and sightseeing.

The EU is striving for transparency in the wild west of AI to keep it on the legal straight and narrow. And there are two kinds of players in this AI regulation party.

• At a conference in London, Altman threatened to take his AI ball and go home if the EU doesn't play nice with his ChatGPT.

• Google, on the other hand is buddying up with EU lawmakers and offering to play by the rules before they even become the law.

Altman isn't completely anti-regulation though. Last week only, he went in-front of the US Congress and asked for regulation himself. He proposed forming an international governing body to keep the teen AI in check.

However, Altman seems to have some, let's say, specific opinions about how that regulation should look. He’s advocating for a Goldilocks scenario – not too tight, not too loose. Just right.

This news comes just a week after the launch of the ULTRA famous ChatGPT app which surpassed a mind-boggling 500K in just 6 days!

If OpenAI actually exits out of the EU, could it mean the comeback of our favorite underdog: PIZZA-GPT 🍕

AI Cryptos Hitch a Ride on the NVIDIA Rocket 🚀

AI has made the Crypto-Hype almost ancient history with strong supporters of crypto jumping ship to AI faster than a politician flip-flopping on campaign promises.

However Nvidia’s mammoth earning’s call yesterday brought back glitter in some true Crypto fans eyes.

The GPU-maker reported that there is going to be a boom in demand for their AI-powered chips which led to the AI crypto-currencies to shoot up.

What are these AI cryptocurrencies though?

• AI cryptocurrencies are digital assets that are designed to power projects that use artificial intelligence.

• These tokens are used to fuel AI-based projects, applications, and services, such as decentralized AI marketplaces, AI-powered trading algorithms, AI-driven decentralized autonomous organizations, and many others.

Some considerable shifts that happened yesterday were:

• Cortex (CTXC) and SingularityNET (AGIX) rose by 6% and 19% respectively. These tokens though have a relatively smaller market cap of less than $40 million.

• Fetch.ai (FET), one of the heavy hitters, with a market cap of $195 million, gained nearly 5% to trade at 23 cents.

As blockchain technology intertwines with rapidly advancing AI, some tech enthusiasts envision a tantalizing future where blockchain could marry with AI.

But hold your horses! This tech marriage is still in its honeymoon phase.

The FDA will apparently let Elon put a computer in a human’s brain. Elon Musk's brain-computer interface firm, Neuralink, has gotten FDA approval to start its first human trial 🎉🧠

James Cameron is penning a new "Terminator" script, drawing inspiration from real-world AI. He's waiting for clearer AI developments before finishing. 🎬🔜

🔮 Futuristic Fridays 🔮

Intel's planning to release its AI-focused "Falcon Shores" chip in 2025 to compete with Nvidia and AMD! The new chip should have some impressive specs, catering to large AI models. Fingers crossed it doesn't face delays like its predecessor. ⏱️🤞

Sightful is launching Spacetop, an "augmented reality laptop" without a screen, projecting a 100-inch virtual workspace through special glasses! Targeting the work-from-anywhere crowd, it's initially only available for 1,000 early adopters. 😎💻

Researchers are closing in on tech that can generate videos from brain scans, maybe even recalling dreams one day! Teams from Singapore and Hong Kong have developed a model that creates high-quality videos from fMRI brain data with 85% accuracy. 🧠🎥
