Palantir scored a Slam Dunk 🏀

Palantir just scored a slam dunk with their Q1 earnings, beating Wall Street's predictions and even upping their guidance for 2023 predicting profitability for the entire year.

This is really positive news for Palantir considering this was only their 2nd quarter when they reported a profit!

So, what do the numbers say?

  • Their revenue grew to $525M and they achieved GAAP profitability for the first time of $4.1M.

  • US Govt. Revenue grew by 22% accounting for a massive $230M out of a total $289M revenue from governments keeping them Palantir’s biggest bank-roller.

Their CEO Alex Karl also announced their new product called “AIP” which literally just stands for “Artificial Intelligence Platform”.

This is honestly disappointing from Palantir whose other products are named like - Gotham, Foundry and Apollo!

  • Their revenue saw an 18% YoY increase, and their US commercial revenue grew a sweet 26% with US commercial customer count even jumping from 103 to 155 customers.

  • Their Government sector grew by 20% to $289M and the Commercial sector grew by 15% to $236M.

Regardless, this makes Palantir the 1353,365th company to announce their “revolutionary” AI platform which they will start rolling out to selected customers this month.

Zero points for guessing CIA as the “selected customer”!

But don't fret, Karp says he’s keeping AI in check. Palantir's software ensures human involvement and oversight, so the machines know who's boss.

Palantir was the star-rookie when it entered the NYSE back when it IPO’ed but that OG glory has yet to come back. Maybe this is their year?

Google tryin to stay cool 🧊

Google is shaking things up by giving its search engine a makeover and we may be bidding goodbye to the dull ol' “10 blue links”.

Google has been against the wall since ChatGPT literally took over the world from this year and G wants to show that it can keep up with the cool kids.

We’re expecting Google to show off their new magic at their upcoming I/O developer conference and we’re expecting the following headliners:

  1. A Better BARD

BARD had a disastrous opening when it was unveiled in February following ChatGPT as it wiped off $100B in market cap for Google. So, the people at G definitely would have worked on upgrading it.

  1. AI-Powered Search

This is a part of their projects code-named “Magi” which is targeted at personalizing search.

  1.  Imagen

This Google’s answer to OpenAI’s famous Dall-E which works on text-to-image technology.

They're also shaking things up by integrating AI chat, short videos, and social media posts to keep up with the cool kids on the internet.

So Yeah, as you can see, Google's desperately trying to stay relevant!
